Petit Goave Community Medical Clinic

From 2016 to 2019, DHRC organized annual mobile medical clinics in Petit Goâve, Haiti, providing care to over 1,500 people, including men, women, and children each year. This initiative highlighted the critical need for a permanent medical facility in the area.

In 2019, the Dufort family donated a plot of land in Petit Goâve to initiate the development of the clinic. Construction started in 2020, with individual donors contributing to the fundraising efforts.

The clinic’s construction was paused on several occasions to allow for additional fundraising efforts. In August 2023, DHRC hosted its inaugural fundraising gala at Port and Starboard in Waterford, CT, which boasted a crowd of 100 people and raised approximately $5,500 for the clinic. A year later, in June 2025, DHRC hosted its Second Annual Gala at VFW Post 10060 in Uncasville, CT, successfully raising $8,400 to support the clinic’s opening.

To complete the physical clinic, essential items such as solar panels, furniture, and medical equipment are still required, totaling over $20,000. Ongoing funding will also be necessary for the clinic’s continuous operation, covering expenses such as medical staff wages, medical supplies, oxygen, electricity, and water. Any contribution, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated. To support this worthy cause, please visit the donation page.
